Genevieve G. Savage is an independent producer currently working with Detroit’s PBS affiliate, Detroit Public TV. Genevieve’s recent work with DPTV includes content partner productions for national PBS series including Need to Knowand PBS Newshour,as well as producing multiple short-form pieces for local and regional broadcast.
Prior to these projects, Genevieve worked as co-producer on Beyond the Light Switch—the nationally broadcast 2-hour documentary on America’s power infrastructure—a project which has also given her the opportunity to produce for the web, creating video and writing blogs as content manager for the documentary’s dedicated website: www.beyondthelightswitch.com.
Being able to oversee projects throughout development, production, post-production, broadcast and commercial release is very much in keeping with Genevieve’s diverse creative interests. A decided lover of visual mediums, Genevieve has been a student of film and television throughout her life. Additional interests include classic literature, zoology, cultural and geopolitical histories, queer theory, Classicism and pop culture. Education leading to Genevieve’s current position includes a MSc in Film; earned with Honors at the University of Edinburgh, and a BA in Art History.
