Atmosphere and Energy Program

Mark Jacobson of Stanford University addresses the supposed need for a “bridge” from fossil fuels to renewable energy, and how we can be implementing wind and solar energy today.

He highlights the significance of corporate lobbying when it comes to our energy infrastructure, and the importance of federal subsidies for newer industries with less capital and manufacturing means. He claims that coal and oil businesses have turned our “free” market into a “free-loading” market where dirty energy businesses thrive to the detriment of the health of US citizens.
