Our power provider buys power from TVA and bill us for how much TVA power we use, then they bill us a flat 31.53. so we have to rent the provider to bring us TVA power, our solar will decress the TVA part but not the flat 31.53 so if we get the TVA down to say 10.00 our bill is still 41.53. this kills our pay back. but we have drop 50% from 1000 KWH/month to 500 KWH/month, but the cost of our bill has stayed the same $100.00 month due to the price of power incress, so you could say we are saving $100.00/month. and if the sun does not shine? well then life as we know it is over.
We put solar panels on our roof, DIY, but we only started with one 100W panel and 12V battery and a 300W inverter, we then removed
the wire that powred the living room lights and connected this to the inverter, changed the lights from CFL to LED 40W. and grew from there.

To install solar at home is very useful as it saves many resources and we can use natural resources free of cost.

i just wonder what if when every electricity has use the sun as the main source energy, and then suddenly the sun didn't shine again...what happen to the earth at the time... ?
The fitness camp that I'm staying on in thailand is using all solar. It's very cool, they've powered the entire camp with it.
Getting into the solar power thing IS a big investment - but nowadays many businesses in Florida are going off the grid, they get all sorts of rebates, there is even a college in Fort myers that is entirely run off hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of solar panels, pretty amazing.

A very costly and different experiment. I don’t think it is easily affordable to someone. I would like to know more about it, but sadly the given blog doesn’t contain any more information except some introduction and his plans. I loved to hear some information from him directly through this video. Some tips about air conditioning xenia would also be great. i've gotthe initial investment, but how do i go about getting started??
Sounds too good to be true. Invest $6000.00 and get payed back in 6 years by savings on your electric bill. However what they are not saying is "what are the utilitie companies backlashing with? Do they pay the same for power theyend up buying back as for the power they are selling. Do they raise the service charge because they are now selling less electricty? What would happen if everyone in a town or city did this or if half ,or a quarter or a tenth of the city did it. I can't believe how much money you get back with tax credits and rebates! Go Sun :)
I'm surprised this works in a place like New Jersey, really makes me rethink the whole solar paradigm.
